In this sermon, Isaac works through the uncomfortable opening of Deuteronomy 7, Israel's command to totally destroy the nations of Canaan, and asks what it's actually telling us about God, not a licence for war today, but one specific act of judgement inside a much bigger story of grace. We look at why Israel was warned against every treaty and every intermarriage, what mercy really costs since the fall, and why God chose the fewest of all peoples rather than the strongest. It's a chapter about a covenant God who binds himself to the weak and the insignificant, not for anything they can offer him, but because of who he is.
