Israel had a habit of self-diagnosis. Blame God when things went wrong, take the credit when things went right. In this sermon we walk through Deuteronomy 9 and 10, where Moses confronts Israel with the truth: not their righteousness, but God's mercy, brought them into the promised land. Through the golden calf, Moses' broken tablets, and his selfless prayer of intercession, we see a stiff-necked people met by an even more gracious God, and a picture of the greater mediator to come in Jesus Christ.
